While still in seminary school, Paul Callan was investigating miracles for a Catholic church in the Boston area when he had his first paranormal experience; what he calls a true life miracle. This experience, resulting from a near-fatal collision with a train, significantly altered his life's course. It was after this car crash that he began having the typical encounters that one would associate with being a medium - seeing and speaking with the dead, having a particular sensitivity to the spirit world, and the like.
